Preparing WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0 for migration
To prepare for migration from version 7.0 to version 8.0, commit customized code and published stores to a source control repository and back up the development database.
Procedure
- Back up your customized code, including published stores, into a source control repository. For example, Rational Application Developer comes with support for CVS and Rational ClearCase. See your Rational Application Developer documentation for details on backing up source code.
-
Back up your version 7.0 development database by using one of the following methods:
- Backup overview
- See the database vendor documentation. Note: When you restore the Oracle database, the character sets are automatically converted to AL32UTF8.
- Copy your WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0 database directory to another location of your choice. For example, copy WC_toolkit70\db\mall to c:\DB_backup\db\mall.
