
Uninstalling WebSphere Commerce manually
Complete the following procedure to uninstall WebSphere Commerce manually on a Linux system.
About this task
You cannot uninstall AIX systems by using this procedure because the
geninstall command does not work with InstallShield-based products. To uninstall
an AIX system, see Uninstalling by using the WebSphere Commerce uninstallation software.
Procedure
- Optional: It is recommended that you stop the IBM Knowledge Center.
- Delete WebSphere Commerce Search.
- Delete any Configuration Manager instances by following the instructions provided in Deleting a WebSphere Commerce instance.
- Stop Configuration Manager.
- If the WC_installdir directory or its subdirectories contain customized files, back up the files to a directory that is not used by WebSphere Commerce.

To uninstall WebSphere Commerce manually, complete the following steps:
- Log on as the root user.
- Issue the following command:
This command returns all of the WebSphere Commerce related packages that are installed on your machine.rpm -qa | grep WC80 - Search this list and record the values for the packages that match the following format:
Where xxxx is an alphanumeric representation.WC80xxxx - For each WebSphere Commerce related package, remove that package by issuing the following
command:
rpm -e package_directory - Go to the
/rootdirectory and open thevpd.propertiesfile in a text editor. - Remove all lines that start with
WC80xxxx. - Save the file and exit.
- Ensure that you are logged on with a user profile that has
*SECOFRauthority. - Start a Qshell session by entering the following from a command line:
STRQSH - Change your current directory to the WebSphere Commerce _uninst
directory.
cd wc_installdir/_uninstall - Run the uninstall command:
uninstall.qsh
