Installing IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce interactively from a DVD
You can install IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce interactively from a DVD.
About this task
Prerequisites
- Ensure that basic IBM Sales Center Client security is in place.
- Ensure that the computer on which you are installing the IBM Sales Center meets the Hardware prerequisites for installing WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Commerce Version 7 software requirements prerequisites.
- Ensure that you are logged in as a user with sufficient system privileges to install new software.
- Ensure that you have the following information:
- Directory on the computer where you want to install the IBM Sales Center.
- Fully qualified host name for the WebSphere Commerce Server. This is the same host name you would use when accessing other WebSphere Commerce tools such as WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.
- Port number for communication with the WebSphere Commerce Server. The default port is 8000.
- (optional) URL for update manager site. This URL is used to update IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce components and can be set at any time.
- Starting language for IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce. This is the language that IBM Sales Center for WebSphere Commerce always displays when it starts.
- Uninstall any existing Lotus Expeditor version on your computer. If you do not want to uninstall your Lotus Expeditor version, you should use the update site: Installing IBM Sales Center from an update site.
Note: IBM Sales Center is installed and migrated using the
same installation wizard. If you are migrating from a previous version
of IBM Sales Center, it is detected and you are presented with an
option to migrate the Sales Center features to version 7. Choose Yes
if you want to migrate to IBM Sales Center version 7.
Procedure
Results
After the installation completes, review the SC_installdir\log\tsinstall.log file to ensure no errors occurred during the installation.
Note: As
part of the installation procedure, Lotus Expeditor for Windows and
Linux version 6.2 is installed. Lotus Expeditor contains the Enterprise
Management agent which enables you to connect to a Lotus Expeditor
Server. This server is used by IBM Sales Center for remotely configuring
preferences.
