Installing feature packs silently on WebSphere Commerce Developer Version 7.0.0.0 or later
You can install a feature pack on the WebSphere Commerce toolkit by using a silent response file.
Procedure
- Uninstall any interim
fixes that are installed and not part of the feature pack you are
installing.See APARs fixed in WebSphere Commerce feature packs for a list of APARs fixed in each feature pack. Feature packs are cumulative, so the latest feature pack includes the fixes for APARs fixed in all lower-level feature packs.Note: Record all interim fixes that you uninstall. After you install the feature pack, you must contact support to obtain a new version of any APAR that was not included in it.
- Optional: In a text editor, open the response file you created in Creating a response file for feature pack installation.
- Optional: Modify the entries in the response file to match the installation options you want.
- On the command line, run the following
command to start the silent installation process:
- For Installation Manager 1.4.3 or higher:
- Go to the eclipse/tools subdirectory of Installation Manager
- Run
IMCL.exe -input response_file_path.txt -log log_file_path -acceptLicense
- Add the
-sP
parameter to obtain more installation progress information
- For Installation Manager 1.4.2 or lower:
- Go to the eclipse subdirectory of Installation Manager
- Run
IBMIMc.exe -–launcher.ini silent-install.ini -input response_file_path.txt -log log_file_path
where- response_file_path is the full path of the response file
- log_file_path is the full path of log file, for example c:\logs\fep_install.log. The full path must exist.
- For Installation Manager 1.4.3 or higher:
- Optional: Review the Installation
Manager log files for any important information or errors.The timestamped logs can be found in the following default locations:
- drive:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\Installation Manager\logs
- drive:\ProgramData\IBM\Installation Manager\logs
- Reinstall the interim fixes that you uninstalled in Step 1, making sure that you obtain the appropriate version for the newly-installed feature pack.
- Enable the features that you want. To enable features, see Enabling features.
