Scenario description

This section provides the background information for the scenario illustrating the Order and Quote Capture Integration in the Elite starter store.

Automotive Customer is an employee of KT Enterprises, a fictitious company. Automotive Customer has been entrusted the task of procuring samples of Import Starter for the company's manufacturing division, before KT Enterprises can enter into a bulk procurement contract with a potential supplier.

Automotive Customer shortlists a few companies to procure a sample Import Starter. MG Enterprises (another fictitious company) is one of these companies that Automotive Customer shortlists. KT Enterprises and MG Enterprises have already signed a two-year contract for sale and purchase of automotive goods, such as electrical and entertainment equipments, brakes, and suspensions.

MG Enterprises encourages its B2B customers to make their purchases using the Elite starter store, an online, B2B store based on WebSphere Commerce. MG Enterprises uses a custom ERP solution as the back end and the Elite Starter store as the front end user interface for their buyers to browse the catalog and submit orders to the custom ERP system.

KT Enterprises is already registered with the Elite Starter Store and Automotive Customer, an authorized buyer from KT Enterprises is a registered and approved customer of Elite starter store.
