Administering
Overview of administering a WebSphere Commerce site
In WebSphere Commerce the person who performs administrative tasks is called a Site Administrator. The Site Administrator installs, configures, and maintains WebSphere Commerce and the associated software and hardware. The administrator responds to system warnings, alerts, and errors, and diagnoses and resolves system problems. Typically, this person controls access and authorization (creating and assigning members to the appropriate role), manages the Web site, monitors performance, and manages load balancing tasks. The Site Administrator might be responsible for establishing and maintaining several server configurations for different stages of development such as testing, staging, and production. The Site Administrator also handles critical system backups and resolves performance problems.
Administration Console
Site Administrators use the Administration Console to control a site or store by completing administrative operations and configuration tasks such as publishing stores, refreshing the registry, and scheduling jobs. You can access the Administration Console at a site-level, or for a particular store.
Scheduler
The Scheduler is a background server that schedules and launches jobs, both at the site and store levels. From the Configuration menu of the Administration Console, the scheduler allows Site Administrators to schedule and configure jobs.
Jobs
A job is a WebSphere Commerce command that is scheduled to run on behalf of a site or store at a specified time or interval. There are three types of jobs.
Scheduling ATP-inventory jobs
If your store uses ATP-inventory, there are some jobs that must be scheduled for the store before the order flow process can be completed.
Scheduling the ReleaseToFulfillment job
The ReleaseToFulfillment job queries orders in the following states: 'C', 'M', 'I', 'B', 'L', 'A'. It checks whether the order is ready for release. If the order is ready to release to fulfillment, it changes the order status to 'R'.

Procedure

Open the Administration Console and select Store on the Administration Console Site/Store Selection page.
Click Configuration > Scheduler. A list of jobs that are scheduled to run is displayed.
Click New. The Schedule Job window opens.
From the Job command list, select ReleaseToFulfillment
Complete the following fields:

Start time Enter 00:00
Interval Enter 600
Priority Enter 10
Click OK. Your job is listed on the Scheduler Status Display page and will run at the specified start time.
