Non-Master Operators requirements

Permission requirements for non-master operators working on BigFix Software Distribution.

If a BigFix non-master operator works on Software Distribution, it must have the Can use REST API permission set to Yes in order to allow the creation, packaging, and management of tasks.

With the setting Allow all operators to edit ‘shared’ software distribution packages enabled, and assuming operator permissions are correctly configured to edit custom content on the appropriate sites, you will have the ability to:
  1. To add or delete files from the shared package, the BigFix operator must have Custom Content = YES. For details, refer to the Adding Local Operators topic.
  2. Add, edit, or delete tasks (including tasks located in BES Console → All Content domain), the BigFix operator must have the write permission on the site. For details, refer to the Operator Permissions Tab topic.
