Remove UCM components

Use the Remove UCM components dialog box to remove VersionVault UCM components in a UCM Project VOB.

When you remove a UCM component, only the component object is deleted. Elements of the component and the VOB associated with the component are not deleted.

Restrictions

Identities: To remove UCM components, you must have one of the following identities:

  • Component owner
  • Project VOB owner
  • root (Linux)
  • Member of the VersionVault group (Windows)

Locks: An error occurs if there are locks on the component or the project VOB.

Mastership: (Replicated VOBs only) Your current replica must master the component.

Baselines: There cannot be any baselines of the component other than the initial baseline and the component's initial baseline cannot be in use as a foundation baseline for a stream.

Controls in the window

The following controls appear in the window:

Control name Control description
Enter UCM component name or pattern matching string Use this text field as a filter to search for components. As you enter text, the Matching items list box displays the component names that match your criteria. You can use the special characters * and ? to represent multiple characters and a single character, respectively.
Matching items This list box displays the components that meet the criteria in the Enter UCM component name or pattern matching string text field. Select the components that you want to delete.
OK Closes the Remove UCM components window and deletes the selected components.
Cancel Closes the Remove UCM components window without deleting any UCM components.
