Apply Label

Use the Apply Label dialog box to select a label and attach it to a version.

Note: Before you can attach a label, you or someone on your project must create the label type in the VOB.

Controls in the dialog box

The following controls appear in the dialog box:

Control name Control description
Version pathname Displays the version-extended pathname to the current version.
View Displays the name of the current HCL VersionVault view.
Label types Displays the label types associated with the VOB in alphabetical order. Obsolete and locked label types are not displayed.
Move existing label Select Move existing label to remove an existing label of the same type from another version of the element:
  • From another version on the same branch, if the label type was created as a "one-per-branch" label type
  • From another version anywhere in the element's version tree, if the label type was not created as a "one-per-branch" label type
No error occurs if there is no such label to remove.
OK Closes the dialog and applies the label.
Cancel Closes the Apply Label dialog without applying the label to the version. Note that if you click Cancel after you click OK, the Apply Label dialog closes, but the label is still applied.
