Installing with Installation Manager from a shared network drive

This scenario outlines how to install both an HCL product and IBM Installation Manager from a shared network drive. Users enter configuration information during the installation.

Procedure

Download the HCL product and IBM Installation Manager from the HCL Software License & Download Portal.
Extract the installation files for the HCL product to a shared network drive. Verify that the directories containing the installation files are shared directories.
Check user requirements before installing. HCL products require administrator access.
Mount a directory or map a shared drive from the shared network drive to the local computer.
Install the HCL product and Installation Manager.
1. On the local computer, open a command prompt.
2. Go to the disk1 directory, which is located on the shared network drive.
3. Start the installation by running the install command: For Windows, type install.exe. For Linux and UNIX systems, type install.
Go through the Installation wizard and enter configuration information during the installation.

Results

The HCL product and IBM Installation Manager are installed. You can also set up Installation Manager updates automatically.
