Installing the HCL VersionVault Explorer
HCL VersionVault Explorer technology provides access to HCL VersionVault from various network connections, including wide area network (WAN). This technology is available in the HCL VersionVault Explorer in various forms.
Installation of VersionVault Explorer for Visual Studio
Use Installation Manager to install HCL VersionVault Explorer for Visual Studio. During installation, choose the appropriate option to match the version of Visual Studio that is installed in your environment.

Installing VersionVault Explorer for Microsoft™ Visual Studio

Use Installation Manager to install HCL VersionVault Explorer for Visual Studio. During installation, choose the appropriate option to match the version of Visual Studio that is installed in your environment.

Install VersionVault Explorer Remote Client for Visual Studio package on a Windows system by using any of these methods:

Installing silently with a response file.
Installing HCL VersionVault Explorer.
Installing into an existing deployment by using the Installation Manager wizard.

Installing silently with a response file

To install HCL VersionVault Explorer for Visual Studio silently with Installation Manager, update the response file with the installation parameters for VersionVault Explorer for Visual Studio.

Before you begin

Microsoft Visual Studio must be installed before you can install HCL VersionVault Explorer for Visual Studio.

Procedure

Locate the existing response file and open it in a text editor.
In the editor, search for Visual Studio environment path.
Specify the path to the Microsoft™ Visual Studio installation directory.
1. Locate the user.VSversionDevEnvPath data key that corresponds to the version of Visual Studio that you are using.
2. If necessary, edit the value to specify the directory path to the Microsoft™ Visual Studio program installed on your system.
Save the file.
From a command line, run the silent installation to add the new feature.

Installing into an existing deployment by using the Installation Manager wizard

Procedure

Start the Installation Manager.
Select HCL VersionVault, and then click Next.
Click Modify.
Select HCL VersionVault Remote Client, and then click Next.
Select Visual Studio, then select the version that is required in your environment.
Click Next.
Click Modify.
