Journey Creation Agent

To create journeys using MaxAI, first refer to the Journey Admin Guide, specifically the Journey AI Support (Add Journey via MaxAI) chapter, for details on the required system configuration and permissions setup for MaxAI.

Once the global feature flags and partition security permissions are successfully configured by the administrator, the Add Journey with MaxAI action interface becomes available to authorized users. This conversational interface allows operators to build structurally sound journey drafts using natural language prompts.

To access the AI-assisted Journey Creation workspace:
  • Log in to the application using a user account that belongs to the desired partition.
  • From the main navigation menu, select Journey.
  • On the Journey Listing page, click Add Journey with MaxAI.
  • This opens the AI-assisted Journey Creation workspace, where you can create journeys using natural language prompts.
Step-by-Step Operational Workflow
  1. Enter Journey Requirements

    Enter your objective into the prompt execution box using rich context, specifying channels, frequency limits and other details. Click on Generate Journey button.

    Example Prompt: `"Create a welcome journey for users who sign up on our website. Send a welcome email immediately. Wait 1 day and send another email explaining key product features. Use an engagement split to check if the first email was opened. If the user opened it, send a mobile push encouraging them to explore the app. If the email was not opened, send an SMS reminder. Wait 2 days and use a decision split to check if the user has logged into the app. If the user has not logged in, send a WhatsApp message with onboarding tips. If the user logs in, send a mobile push highlighting advanced features and publish activated users."

  2. Review the Journey Summary

    Once the prompt is processed, a summary of the proposed journey is displayed. This summary typically includes:

    • Journey Name
    • Channels
    • Objectives
    • Key workflow details
    Review the information and enter Proceed in the conversation box. The system then analyzes the request against available templates and journey-building libraries and presents two options:
    1. Matched Templates
    2. Custom Journeys
  3. Match Templates

    The Matched Templates option displays relevant template recommendations, including the template name and description.

    To proceed:

    1. Select Matched Templates.
    2. Click Preview Journey.
    3. Review the generated journey on canvas, including channel nodes, wait periods, and decision splits.
    4. If the journey meets your requirements, click Proceed with This Journey.

    A new journey is created using the selected template.

    If you are not satisfied with the suggested template:

    1. Click Back to Conversation.
    2. The system returns you to the MaxAI conversation screen, where you can refine your request or choose a different option.
  4. Custom Journey

    The Custom Journey option generates a journey entirely from the provided prompt and business objectives. For custom journey option, user can enter additional information also to update the journey plan (e.g. delay , touchpoint types and splits etc).

    To proceed:

    1. Select Proceed with Custom Journey
    2. MaxAI will suggest a detailed Journey plan with touchpoint and configuration details.
    3. If user wants to update the Journey plan, they can do it via providing additional requirements in the Execution box
    4. When user is satisfied with the journey plan, click Preview Journey to open it in Unica canvas, or say Proceed and journey will be created and system will navigate to canvas screen for you to review before confirming.
    5. Review the generated custom journey in canvas, including channel nodes, wait periods, and decision splits.
    6. If the journey meets your requirements, click Proceed with This Journey button.

    If you are not satisfied with the suggested Journey:
    1. Click Back to Conversation.
    2. The system returns you to the MaxAI conversation screen, where you can refine your request or choose a different option.
