- Installation Overview
  From release 26.1.0, HCL Detect is available for on premises installation.
  - How Installers Work
    You must use the suite installer and the product installer when you install any Unica product. For example, for installing HCL Detect, you must use the Unica suite installer and the HCL Detect installer.
  - Modes of Installation
    The Unica suite installer can run in one of the following modes: GUI mode / X Window System mode, Console mode, or Silent mode (also called the unattended mode). Select a mode that suits your requirements when you install Detect.
- Planning the Detect Installation
  When you plan your Detect installation, ensure that you have set up your system correctly, and that you have configured your environment to deal with any failures.
- Preinstallation Configurations
- Installation
  You must run the Unica installer to start the installation of Detect. The Unica installer starts the product installer during the installation process. Make sure that the Unica installer and the product installer are saved at the same location.
- Post Installation Configurations
  After you install Detect, complete post-installation updates for runtime components and configuration files.
- Run End-to-End Ingestion Validation
  Validate the complete data path from event ingestion to pipeline execution and destination delivery.
- Disable or Uninstall
  You can choose to disable Detect or uninstall it.

You must use the suite installer and the product installer when you install any Unica product. For example, for installing HCL Detect, you must use the Unica suite installer and the HCL Detect installer.

Ensure that you follow these guidelines before you use the Unica suite installer and the HCL Detect installer:

The Unica installer and the HCL Detect installer must be in the same directory on the computer where you want to install the product.

The default top-level directory for Unica installations are as follows:

Linux-based operating systems	/HCL/Unica

Note: If required, you can change the directory path during installation.
