Rule definitions
Rule definitions allow you to create the scope of a rule or to determine the action performed on that scope.
The scope of a rule is the set of proposed contacts that are affected by that rule. The scope can be specified by using various dimensions such as customer, offer, channel, and time.
For example, you define your scope as a set of contacts:
- Within a segment called Low Value
- Contacted through the email channel
- Include an offer for 10% off
You can define a For Each Customer Max # Offer rule to ensure that this set of contacts does not receive more than one of these communications a month.
This section contains three main rule definitions:
Segments-for scoping the rule to pertain to specific customers and audience IDs
Segments are available for the Customers In, Min/Max # Offers FEC, Max # of Packages, Max # Duplicate Offers, Min # Unique Offers, Never A with B, Never A Followed by B, and B only with A rules.
Offer lists-for applying the rule to specific offers
Offer lists are available for the Customers In, Min/Max # Offers Capacity, Custom Capacity, Min/Max Total Cost, Min/Max # Offers FEC, Max # Duplicate Offers, Min # Unique Offers, Never A with B, Never A Followed by B, and B only with A rules.
Offer versions-applying the rule only to specific versions of offers as defined by their offer attribute values
