The following articles provide instructions on how to set up and use HCL Nomad.
Schedule replication
To keep your data current and accessible even while offline, HCL Nomad for iOS allows you to fully automate your data synchronization. From the dedicated Replication page, you can easily schedule background replications, choosing the specific times and intervals that best fit your daily workflow.

Limitations
There are a variety of limitations for Nomad. Some limitations are short-term, as the function is possible but has not been implemented yet. Some limitations are long-term and generally involve functions that cannot be implemented in the environment in which Nomad is running.

Using Nomad for iOS

- Setting up HCL Nomad for Domino
  Follow these steps to set up HCL Nomad if you use an on-premises mail server located at your company site.

  You can now easily provide text input by utilizing your iOS device's camera to scan a barcode or QR code.
- Scrolling within views
  Drag in a view to scroll the view. When you drag within a view to scroll, arrows are available to move to the beginning or end of the view.
- Frame navigation on the iPhone
  Domino applications can consist of complex framesets containing multiple frames. These framesets can clutter the smaller interface of the iPhone screen. HCL Nomad on iPhone has unique toolbar actions designed to help users navigate their complex applications and improve their experience.

  HCL Nomad supports the mobile actions menu button, which is a floating action button that hovers over a view.
- Creating local replicas
  You’ll find that creating a local replica is similar to creating one in HCL Notes®. Follow these steps to create a local replica of an application on your device. The local replica is encrypted using Notes and Domino® encryption.
- Managing local replicas
  Use the Replication page to replicate Domino applications. Set a schedule for replication, replicate all replicas immediately or replicate a specific application. Also use this page to delete or re-create a local replica.

Schedule replication

To keep your data current and accessible even while offline, HCL Nomad for iOS allows you to fully automate your data synchronization. From the dedicated Replication page, you can easily schedule background replications, choosing the specific times and intervals that best fit your daily workflow.

About this task

Procedure

Tap the Replication Page button in the global action bar to open the replication page.
Tap on the scheduled replication drown down menu on the top-left of the screen.
Select from "Replicate every 15 minutes" or "Replicate every hour".
Nomad will replicate based on that interval. Due to iOS restrictions if HCL Nomad for iOS is in the background, it is not guaranteed to execute scheduled replication. If it does not, then it will execute scheduled replication the next time the client comes to the foreground. Nomad will notify the user when this happens with a banner message that says, "Replication/sync in progress. Keep the app open until complete.

Example:
You can disable scheduled replication by tapping the scheduled replication drop down and selecting "Turn off schedule".

Note: All your offline apps will now sync automatically based on the schedule you set. If you ever want to update them right away, you can still do it yourself at any time by tapping "Replicate All" or using the sync button inside a specific app.
