Beyond standard relational database objects, HCL Informix® can be extended to handle specialized data types, access methods, routines, and other objects. Informix includes many built-in extensions that are fully integrated in the database server. Informix also provides DataBlade® modules, which are packages of extended database objects for a particular purpose and that are installed separately from the database server. Alternatively, you can create your own user-defined objects for Informix.

Future versions of the Spatial DataBlade® may not be able to interpret geometries stored using this version of the DataBlade® module. Similarly, this version of the Spatial DataBlade® may not be able to interpret geometries stored using a future version.

If an upgrade mechanism is provided with a new version of this DataBlade® module, use it on your data as described in the release notes. If an upgrade mechanism is not provided, you must unload your data with the old DataBlade® module version and reload it with the new version.
