Creating an event handler
When you create an event generator, you can launch the event handler wizard to create an event handler at the same time. You can also manually create an Event Handler document in the Monitoring Configuration database (EVENTS4.NSF).
Procedure
- From the Domino® Administrator, click the Configuration tab, and open the Monitoring Configuration view.
- Go to the New Event Handler. view, and click
- On the Basics tab under Server(s)
to monitor , select one:
- Notify of the event on any server in the domain
- Notify of the event only on the following servers. Then select the server from a list.
- Under Notification trigger, if you select Any
event that matches a criteria, complete these fields on
the Event tab:

Event type
Choose one:
- Events can be any type
- Events must be this type. Then select the type from the list.
Event severity
Choose one:
- Events can be any severity
- Events must be one of these severities. Then select a severity level from the list.
Message text
Choose one:
- Events can have any message
- Events must have this text in the event message. Then type the message text.
If you choose A built-in or add-in task event, click the Events tab, and then click Select Event. Select the event from the list, and choose one:
- Events can have any message
- Events must have this text in the event message. Then type the message text.
If you choose custom event generator, select it from the list or click New to create a new custom event generator.
- Click Details to view a custom Event Generator document.
- Click the Action tab and choose the notification method.
- Choose one enablement option:
- Enable this notification -- To enable the notification during all hours.
- Disable this notification -- To disable the notification so that it does not run.
- Enabled only during these times -- Then click the clock and move the slider to select the start and end time during which this event handler is enabled.
- Click Save & Close.
