When you may need to remove your DAOS configuration before downgrading a server
If you need to downgrade a server to an earlier Domino version, you might first need to remove your DAOS configuration.
If any of these issues apply to your situation, complete the procedure Removing your DAOS configuration before you downgrade
a server.
Issue that requires removal of your DAOS configuration | Downgrade scenarios issue applies to |
---|---|
You enabled shared keys for DAOS object encryption, even if shared keys are currently disabled. Once encrypted with a shared key, DAOS objects can't be accessed after the downgrade. | Downgrades to Domino 11.0.1, 11.0.0, 10.x, and earlier versions. |
You enabled any type of DAOS object encryption. Starting in Domino 12, by default newly created DAOS objects are encrypted using AES-128 rather than the legacy encryption method used in previous versions. Some earlier Domino versions cannot decrypt AES-128 objects. | Downgrades to Domino 11.0.0, 10.x, and earlier versions. |
You enabled DAOS tier 2 at any time, even if currently disabled. Only Domino versions 11.0 and later support DAOS tier 2. If you ever configured your Domino 11.0 or later server to use tier 2, tier 2 objects are not accessible by prior Domino versions. | Downgrades to Domino 10.x and earlier versions. |
