Adding a database connection to the schema
You can add a database connection to link a schema to a database for data generation and management.
Before you begin
You must have completed the following tasks:
- Ensured that you are assigned a role as a Project Owner or Tester in the project. See Managing access to the server projects.
- Created a project in your team space in Test Hub. See Creating a project.
- Added the remote Git repository that contains the test resources to the project. See Adding repositories to a server project.
- Added a database connection in your project. See Adding a database connection.
- Created an empty schema in your project. See Creating an empty schema.
About this task
When you create an empty schema, it is not linked to any database. In the Database View tab, a message is displayed that indicates that the schema is empty and requires a database connection.
Procedure

Select the Schema in the data navigator panel that is not connected to
any database.
The selected schema is displayed on the Data page.

Navigate to the Database View tab.
If the schema is not connected to any database, a message appears This schema is not linked to any database.

Click Add DB Connection.
The Add a Database Connection dialog is displayed.
- Select a database from the Select a Database Connection list.
- Click Done.
