DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite installation

Review requirements and other considerations to consider when planning the installation of the DevOps Code ClearCase® MultiSite.

• DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite can be installed only on a host running DevOps Code ClearCase at the same version level.
• You do not have to install DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite on all DevOps Code ClearCase computers. In most cases, only the following computers require installation:
  • Computers on which one or more replicated VOBs are hosted.
  • Computers that belong to users with DevOps Code ClearCase and DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite administration responsibilities.
  • Computers on which the shipping_server utility is used, even if no replicated VOBs are hosted on that computer.
    Note: Running shipping_server does not require a DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite license.
• In a mixed network of hosts running DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite version 8.0.x and earlier releases, you can replicate a VOB from a host running DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite version 8.0.x to a host that runs an earlier major version of DevOps Code ClearCase MultiSite only if:
  • The feature level of the VOB is less than or equal to the highest VOB feature level supported by that host.
  • The schema version of the VOB is supported by all replica hosts. See VOB schema versions.
• If you plan to host ACL-enabled VOBs in a mixed environment, review the Set up ACLs on new and existing VOBs.
