Starting and stopping the MVFS

Unlike other DevOps Code ClearCase® services, the MVFS runs in the kernel and cannot be stopped or started independently of the operating system. To stop and restart the MVFS, you must shut down and restart your computer. On Windows, however, you can start and stop the MVFS using the ClearCase Control Panel to enable the MVFS update without restarting.
