Starting and stopping the MVFS
Unlike other DevOps Code ClearCase® services, the MVFS runs in the kernel and cannot be stopped or started independently of the operating system. To stop and restart the MVFS, you must shut down and restart your computer. On Windows, however, you can start and stop the MVFS using the ClearCase® Control Panel to enable the MVFS update without restarting.
When a DevOps Code ClearCase® host starts, the Albd, cccredmgr, and LockMgr services are also initiated, in addition to the MVFS. These services will start automatically unless they have been specifically configured to start manually.
On Windows, to start or stop ClearCase®, you
can use the ClearCase® Control Panel to manage
(start/stop) the services and/or the MVFS. Alternatively, you can manually start or stop
services using Windows commands, such as:
- net stop albd
- net start albd
