Migrating and updating

Updating IBM® Connections 6.0
Updates to HCL Connections™ 6.0 are delivered as interim fixes or Cumulative Refreshes.
Updating Connections 6.0 with the latest Cumulative Refresh (CR)
Updates for HCL Connections 6.0 are delivered through Cumulative Refreshes (CRs). Each refresh contains the changes included in all previous refreshes or interim fixes for a release. Install the latest Cumulative Refresh and prerequisite software to take advantage of all available changes.
Rolling back Connections 6.0 CR2
If you roll back IBM Connections™ 6.0 CR2 to CR1, you must reapply a security fix for CR1.

      - Finding out about earlier Cumulative Refreshes for IBM® Connections
        You should always update to the latest Cumulative Refresh available, which includes all fixes that were delivered with previous refreshes or interim fixes.
      - Preparing applications for updating
        Before you update an IBM® Connections deployment, prepare applications and supporting products for the update.
      - Updating IBM Connections™ databases for V6.0 CR5
        If you update IBM Connections™ 6.0 to apply CR5, you must also update databases to accommodate new and changed features.
      - Installing CR5 for IBM Connections 6.0
        Install a Cumulative Refresh (CR) for IBM® Connections 6.0.
      - Rolling back Connections 6.0 CR5
        If IBM Connections 6.0 CR5 is rolled back to a previous CR then the LotusConnections-config folder will need to be manually restored.
      - Rolling back Connections 6.0 CR4
        If IBM Connections 6.0 CR4 is rolled back to a previous CR then the LotusConnections-config folder will need to be manually restored.
      - Rolling back Connections 6.0 CR3
        Roll back IBM Connections™ 6.0 CR3 and optionally restore the previously installed version of the IBM Connections Engagement Center.
      - Rolling back Connections 6.0 CR2
        If you roll back IBM Connections™ 6.0 CR2 to CR1, you must reapply a security fix for CR1.
      - Rolling back Connections 6.0 CR1
        IBM Connections 6.0 CR1 installs additional WebSphere Enterprise Applications for Metrics, needed if you want to deploy the metrics capability in Component Pack for IBM Connections. If you need to roll back CR1 to Connections 6.0 for any reason, these additional metrics components must be uninstalled before the rollback can be completed.

Rolling back Connections 6.0 CR2

If you roll back IBM Connections™ 6.0 CR2 to CR1, you must reapply a security fix for CR1.

About this task

This task only applies to CR1 deployments; if you intend to roll back to V6.0, skip this task.

Procedure

After rolling back CR2, apply the IBM Connections™ Security Refresh (CVE-2017-1748) to the CR1 deployment.
