Solr-based tutorials
Prior to HCL Commerce Version 9.1, the Apache Solr search engine is standard. If you are using Solr, the following tutorials can help you configure and customize it for your particular needs.
Search server customization
In this tutorial, you edit configuration files to influence the behavior of the Solr 7.3.1 search engine. Two tutorial tasks are provided. In the first lesson, you change the default list of stop words (words that do not get indexed) used by the Search server. By customizing the list, you make it easier for customers browsing in the storefront to find products. In the second lesson, you add a Solr field to change the suggested keywords that display in the search entry field to a shopper, reducing ambiguity in search results.

        Custom Solr fields
        In this lesson, you add your own Solr field type to the x-schema-field-types.xml configuration file. The new field will remove dashed concatenations from search suggestions. For instance, instead of suggesting "jewel-toned" in a search for "jewel" it will suggest "jewel toned."
