Installing an IBM Db2 database
Install IBM Db2 Database Version 11.5 or higher to serve as your database.
Note:
- IBM Db2 Version 11.5 requires HCL Commerce 9.0.1.12 or greater.
- The IBM Db2 registry variable Db2_COMPATIBILITY_VECTOR is not supported.
Before you begin
Important: If you are migrating from an earlier version of HCL Commerce,
ensure that you install the new IBM Db2 database on the same platform. A
database backup can only be restored on a system within the same platform family.
If you do not have the IBM Db2 Version 11.5 software, then download the eAssemblies.

- Log in to HCL License and Delivery portal.
- Obtain the following package, depending on the version that you are installing:
- DB2 Enterprise Edition V11.5 Multiplatform Multilingual package (DB2_Ent-v11.5), which contains parts for IBM Db2 Database 11.5.
Note: You can also obtain these pieces of software individually from IBM directly.
Procedure

Use the package that you downloaded to install IBM Db2.

- Install IBM Db2 Version 11.5.

Apply the license entitlement certificate, depending on the version that you
are installing, that is included in:
IBM® Db2® Standard Edition - VPC Option - Activation 11.5 for Linux®, UNIX and Windows®
(DB2_DSE_Activation_11.5.zip) orIBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition Restricted Use Quick Start and Activation V11.5 for Linux, UNIX and Windows Multilingual
(DB2ESE_Restricted_Activation_11.5.zip)

- Optional:
If you want to use IBM Db2 OEM High Capacity, then apply the
license entitlement certificate, depending on the version that you are
installing, that is included in:
IBM Db2 OEM High Capacity - Restricted Use 11.5 Multiplatform
(CC1V8ML.zip)
- Create a system user account (for example, wcs). You will use this system user account to load the HCL Commerce database schema and load bootstrap data.
