HCL Commerce eAssemblies
Verify downloads for completeness and authenticity using the tables that summarize the HCL Commerce electronic assemblies (eAssemblies), file names, and MD5 checksum values.
HCL Commerce consists of HCL Commerce Enterprise, and HCL Commerce Developer, a separate offering that is used by developers of the platform. Each offering is logically divided into subpackages called electronic assemblies, or eAssemblies. An eAssembly is a group of software that is devoted to a particular platform or environment. Each eAssembly contains the individual product images for that environment, called parts. Which parts you need depends on your usage and configuration choices. Important:
- HCL Commerce is tested with the versions of companion software that are stated, and is supported against any faults which are encountered when used alongside them. If you encounter an issue operating HCL Commerce with older versions of companion software, upgrade to a tested and supported level before contacting HCL Support.
- Details about older releases are presented for informational purposes only. It is recommended that you upgrade to the latest available update package for the most up-to-date feature, security, performance, and stability fixes.
- Ongoing fixes that are made to HCL Commerce are not added to older releases or
fix packs retroactively. New fixes are only added to subsequent releases or fix
packs.
To ensure that any issues that you are encountering have not already been fixed in an available release or fix pack, upgrade to the latest version of HCL Commerce Version 9.1 before contacting HCL Support.
- Only a subset of images are updated for fix pack releases. These images, with modified fix pack file names, remain compatible with and are intended to be used with the remaining original release images.
- The third party software bundle package contains all third party prerequisite software and licenses that are required for operating your HCL Commerce installations. Ensure that your usage of this software is within the scope of those third party licenses.
- All current versions of HCL Commerce, HCL Commerce Developer, and the most up-to-date third party prerequisite softwares (third party bundle) can be downloaded from the My HCLSoftware portal.
The HCL Harbor Container Registry, also known as HCL Harbor, is available as the fastest and most direct method of obtaining
the latest HCL Commerce Docker images directly from HCL. This method can easily
be integrated into your organization's CI/CD pipeline.- HCL Commerce fix packs include defect fixes, and are made available between major releases, beginning with 9.1.13.1. It is recommended to upgrade to the latest fix pack as it becomes available. Only certain images within the release are updated for fix pack releases. These updated containers, with modified fix pack file names, are intended to be used with the remaining original containers of the same release.
- Additional Elasticsearch-based search updates are made and documented between releases. Review Keeping Elasticsearch-based search up-to-date for details on important changes and upgrade considerations for Elasticsearch-based search schemas, and the NiFi, Ingest, and Query services.
Use the values in the Checksum column to verify that your eAssembly parts were not corrupted during the download process. For more information, see Verifying the download package.
