Migrating runtime environments (with staging servers)
The following section outlines the high-level steps that must be followed to
migrate your runtime instance from version 7.0 to version 8.0. These steps are specific to version
7.0 environments that are configured with a staging or authoring instance.If you are
migrating an environment that is not configured with a staging or authoring instance, see Migrating runtime environments (without staging servers).
Before you begin
- Review Planning to migrate WebSphere Commerce.
- Generate and review a product comparability report for WebSphere Commerce Version 8.0.
- From your WebSphere Commerce Version 7.0 environment, ensure that all tasks are approved and all workspaces are closed.
- From your WebSphere Commerce Version 7.0 environment, use the following utilities to ensure
that your staging database and production database are synchronized:Note: Once the staging and production databases are in sync, a content-freeze should be in effect until the live production environment is migrated.
