Clustering your WebSphere Commerce environment

After you federate your WebSphere Commerce environment, you can configure clustering. Clustering provides failover protection and workload balancing.

About this task

Note: Post-scaling validation of namespace bindings

After adding new vertical or horizontal cluster members, verify that the namespace (JNDI) bindings are correctly configured in the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) administrative console.

New members may inherit default or incorrect values (for example, localhost) for store-dependent bindings such as:

  • com.ibm.commerce.foundation.server.services.search.hostname
  • com.ibm.commerce.foundation.server.services.search.url

If these bindings are not updated, JSPs may fail to load and the storefront can become inaccessible.

To configure the correct values, refer to: Configuring the WebSphere Commerce and WebSphere Commerce Search server namespace bindings
