        Set up your system to use IBM HTTP Server for IBM i remotely.

        You must apply maintenance to your IBM HTTP Server installation. Complete one of the following based on the version of IBM HTTP Server that is installed.
        Configuring Microsoft IIS
        WebSphere Commerce supports Microsoft IIS Version 7.5 and Microsoft IIS Version 8.0. After you create a WebSphere Commerce instance, complete configuration of the Microsoft IIS web server for use with WebSphere Commerce.
        Configuring a remote web server
        If the web server is installed on a different node from WebSphere Commerce, create a WebSphere Commerce instance, and then complete the configuration of the web server node.

Configuring the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

You must enable SSL to start your instance properly.

Procedure

Review the security information in Enabling SSL for outbound web services.
Assign a certificate to your HTTP server in Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) on the IBM i Web server machine. Without assigning a certificate, your WebSphere Commerce instance will not start. For more information, see Digital Certificate Manager.
