IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer
Get a quick start on developing your WebSphere Commerce store fronts with IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer Enterprise or IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer Professional. They include tools to:
- Create, test, and deploy a WebSphere Commerce site under the test environment and workspaces that are provided by Rational Application Developer (RAD) for WebSphere.
- Build and extend WebSphere Commerce functionality.
- Customize IBM Management Center for WebSphere Commerce.
Packaging
The products described are available in both electronic software distribution (ESD) and packaged formats. Physical media is delivered on DVDs.
The following supporting programs are packaged and licensed for use with IBM WebSphere Commerce Professional V8.0 and IBM WebSphere Commerce Enterprise V8.0:
- IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V8.5.5
- IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition 10.5
- IBM Directory Server V6.4
The following supporting programs are packaged and licensed for use with IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer Professional V8.0 and IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer Enterprise V8.0:
- WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V8.5.5
- DB2 Enterprise Server Edition 10.5
- IBM Rational Application Developer V9.5
WebSphere Commerce search
- WebSphere Commerce search features were cumulative in WebSphere Commerce Version 7. Depending on which feature pack you are upgrading from, you will receive all the features that were released in later feature packs to improve your WebSphere Commerce solution. For more information about the search features released in WebSphere Commerce Version 7 feature packs, see Product overview: WebSphere Commerce search.
- You can work with customized files to extend the default Solr configuration files that were previously not extendable. For example, the schema.xml, solrconfig.xml, or wc-data-config.xml files. For more information, see Solr configuration files.
- The Apache Solr software stack has been updated to version 4.10.3 in WebSphere Commerce Version 8.
WebSphere Commerce REST API
- The Aurora starter store uses REST services throughout the checkout process. The actions for each page map to a REST service. These mappings are documented to help you customize the checkout process to suit your business needs. For more information, see Mapping of REST services to storefront checkout actions.
- In addition to viewing the WebSphere Commerce REST API in the Swagger UI, you can also view the REST API resources on the search server. For more information, see Viewing the WebSphere Commerce REST API in the Swagger UI.
