Creating a quote from an existing quote

A customer might want to get a cost quotation before deciding whether to place an order. You can use the IBM Sales Center to create a quote for a new or existing customer by beginning with an empty quote, or you can use it to create a new quote based on the information in an existing quote or order. This section explains how to create a quote from an existing quote.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the IBM Sales Center.
  2. Select a store.
  3. Optional: Perform one of the following actions:
    • Find the quote on which you want to base the new quote, and then select it in the Stores view or Quote editor.
    • Find the customer for the quote on which you want to base the new quote, and then select the customer in the Stores view.
  4. Click Quote > Create from Existing.
  5. If the information in Existing quote is not correct, perform one of the following actions:
    • Enter the ID of the quote on which you want to base the new quote.
    • Click Find to search for the ID of the quote on which you want to base the new quote.
  6. Optional: Select Preserve payment instructions.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Modify the quote as necessary.

    Note: All items in the new quote are re-priced, and any previously negotiated prices will need to be re-negotiated.

  9. In the Quote Items page, click the Apply button to apply your changes before clicking on the Payment page.
  10. Click Complete Quote.
