Available from 9.2.1. You can now use the two-factor authentication and use SSO to log on to BigFix Inventory and maintain login consistency with other applications in the enterprise. You can configure BigFix Inventory to use two-factor authentication with single sign-on based either on the exchange of Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML 2.0) token.

This topic provides administrative procedures for implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) SAML-based User Auto-Provisioning (Just-In-Time provisioning) in BigFix Inventory version 11.0.8. This feature eliminates the requirement to manually create user records in BigFix Inventory prior to their first login by automatically onboarding users based on claims from your Identity Provider (IdP) and Provisioning Rules defined for the Claims in BigFix Inventory.

Prerequisites

Before beginning the installation or upgrade, ensure the following requirements are met:

Administrative Access: At least one user with the Administrator role must be created manually with authentication method Single Sign-On to configure initial settings.
Identity Provider (IdP) Configuration: Your IdP (for example, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta) must be configured to send group/attribute claims in the SAML assertion.
SAML Metadata: You must have the IdP metadata XML or URL ready for exchange.
