Downloading and extracting the electronic images

This task covers the steps to download and extract the installation files for HCL AppScan Enterprise from My HCLSoftware (MHS).

Before you begin

  • Ensure you have an active HCLSoftware ID to sign in to MHS.
  • Verify that you have the required permissions to download software.

Procedure

  1. Go to MHS and sign in using your credentials.
    Note:
    Learn more about using MHS.
  2. Navigate to the Download section.
  3. From the available software, select HCL AppScan > AppScan Enterprise.
  4. From the list of available versions, select the required AppScan Enterprise version (e.g., 10.8.0).
  5. Review the available files and download the necessary components:
    • ASE_ServerSetup_<version>.zip – AppScan Enterprise Server installation.
    • ASE_DASSetup_<version>.exe – Dynamic Analysis Scanner installation.
    • ase_plan.pdf – Planning and installation guide.
    • ReadMeASE.htm – Release notes for the selected version.
  6. Locate the .zip file downloaded for AppScan Enterprise Server.
  7. Copy the .zip file to the machine where you want to install the AppScan Enterprise Server.
  8. To extract its contents, use a file extraction tool (e.g., WinRAR,7-Zip, or Windows® Explorer).
  9. Ensure all files are extracted before proceeding with the installation.
    • The installation files are successfully downloaded and extracted.
    • You are ready to proceed with AppScan Enterprise installation.
