Configuring a proxy for the AppScan Dynamic Analysis Client

Configure the proxy for the AppScan Dynamic Analysis Client and test the connection. This proxy is used to import .scant templates from AppScan Standard. After the .scant template is imported, the security analyst can use it to create a QuickScan template.

Procedure

  1. Go to Administration > Dynamic Analysis Client Proxy.
  2. Enter the proxy address and modify the port number if necessary.
    Restriction:
    The port number can't be the same as the port number in the connection proxy that is stored in the web.config file.
  3. If the proxy server requires authentication, enter the user name and password.
  4. Enter a URL to test the proxy connection and click Test Connection.
  5. When the connection is successful, click Save.

    The settings above apply specifically to importing templates. The AppScan Dynamic Analysis Client also has its own communication and proxy settings that are used during scan recording and execution. These settings determine how both the local client and the AppScan Enterprise Agent connect to the application being tested.
