Email notifications

Use email notifications to be informed about scan progress, results, proactive alerts for new CVEs added and other AppScan events. This topic describes how to configure notification settings, select asset groups, applications and triggers, and manage delivery options.

Access email notification settings

On the ASoC home page, select your username, then go to Account settings > Email notifications.

Enable email notifications

By default, email notifications for monitoring and alerts are enabled for all scans you create.
Note: Previously, you could enable email notifications during scan creation. This option is now deprecated, but backward compatibility is supported at the API level.

Creating application notifications

Create application-specific notifications, filtered by asset groups and trigger conditions.

  1. In the upper-right corner of the window, click Create notification.
  2. Select all asset groups, or choose specific asset groups as needed.
  3. Select the applications to which this notification rule applies.
  4. Select one or more triggers:
    1. Scan failed: Notifies users when a scan fails.
    2. Scan completed: Notifies users when a scan completes.
    3. Proactive alerts: Notifies users automatically when new CVEs are found in previously scanned libraries (SCA scans only).
  5. Click Create. The notification trigger is created, and when the trigger condition is met, an email is sent to the user's email address.
