Subscriptions

Subscriptions view displays the status of all your organization's subscriptions. It includes details like the selected technologies, how many months have passed, the number of applications in use, or the number of concurrent scans that can be run per technology, as well as the start and end dates.

Select Organization > Subscriptions to open Subscriptions view. The support team manages HCL licenses through the MyHCLSoftware Download and License Portal (MHS). For any assistance with MHS licenses, contact support. To purchase a new license, Contact HCL.

The Subscriptions view lists active, upcoming, and expired subscriptions including:
  • Subscription type, including the scan technologies included in the subscription.
  • For per application, the number of applications that have been scanned using the current license.
  • For per concurrency, the number of concurrent scans that can be run per scan technology.
  • How many months passed using the current license.
  • Details, including subscriptions start date, end date, and ID.
Note:
  • Only Administrators can add or edit subscriptions.
  • You can add a subscription with a future starting date.

Register a new organization

Before you begin: Ensure you have a valid license file that was provided by the HCL sales team.

Note: The start date of the HCL AppScan on Cloud subscription relies on the dates mentioned in the license. It does not depend on when you upload the file to ASoC or when you activate the license.
To register a new organization:
  1. Click Register on the following link based on your geographic location:
    1. HCL AppScan on Cloud home page: North America data center

    2. HCL AppScan on Cloud home page: Western Europe data center

  2. Enter your Email address, type in your Organization name, and upload the license file under License file, and then click Register organization. When the license file is approved, ASoC displays the message Registration Successful.
  3. ASoC redirects you to the login page. You must log in with an HCL ID. If you don’t have one, create one using the email address you wish to use for your ASoC account.

When you have signed in or signed up successfully, you are redirected to the ASoC site.

Additional information about subscriptions

Metal subscriptions (per concurrency)

For Silver and Gold subscriptions, you are required to select technologies. Note that for future subscriptions you can only select the technologies once the subscription is active.

Professional (pay per application) subscription
  • Automating scans: If you have a Professional (pay per application) subscription, and use a custom script to scan your app automatically, the script should not create a new application in ASoC for each scan, as this will consume your subscription unnecessarily. Instead, after the first scan you should Rescan (recommended) or run a new scan in the same application.
  • Deleting applications: If you have a Professional (pay per application) subscription, applications you create can be deleted only if you have not yet run a scan in them. Once you have run a scan in an application, the application cannot be deleted, as it counts towards your subscription limit.
  • Mixed subscriptions: If your organization has purchased both Professional (pay per application) and Standard (pay per scan) subscriptions, you will be prompted to choose which subscription to assign to an application. This option is available under Scan settings in the Create Application dialog when creating a new application. If none is assigned when the application is created, you must assign it when you scan.
Note: An application can be assigned to a subscription only by users with Administrator, Manager or Application Manager permissions.
