Human Tasks: empowering workflows with user interaction

The Human tasks feature enables your automated workflows to delegate tasks directly to users. This powerful new capability enables workflows to pause and await necessary input, decisions, or approvals from a designated user before proceeding.

Previously, scenarios requiring a user specific input within a procedure often relied on existing external tools, necessitating separate instance and configuration management. With this new development, you can do everything in HCL Universal Orchestrator.

When a human task starts, the responsible user can interact with it by providing required information or approvals. User input, gathered through a customizable form in the UI, becomes the output properties of the task. These output properties can then be leveraged by subsequent tasks to make decisions and guide the workflow. The UI offers specific sections where users can easily interact with existing tasks. A new queue item helps organize and manage human tasks, allowing tasks to reference a specific queue. Users can be notified via email when new tasks are added to a queue they belong to or assigned to them.
