v2.1.7+Configuring the Tenant Manager notification banner

Use the Tenant Manager notification banner to announce maintenance, upgrades, and other important events to every tenant at once.

About this task

A service provider administrator configures the Tenant Manager notification banner to announce maintenance windows, upgrades, and other system-wide events to users across all tenants. When a tenant also has its own notification banner enabled, the Tenant Manager banner is displayed before the tenant-level banner.

Procedure

  1. Open the Tenant Manager and click the Notification banner action button in the top navigation action bar.
  2. Set the Enable toggle to display the banner.
Disabling the toggle hides the banner from users and retains the drafted Summary and Details content in the form.
  3. In the Summary field, type the headline text to display on the Welcome page.
  4. In the Details field, type the expanded announcement text.

Use the Plain text/HTML - Markdown toggle to set the format of the Details field. This toggle does not affect the Summary field.

  5. Optionally, you can choose a justification Category among the available options, and provide a Ticket number and a Reason.
  6. Click Update banner to save your changes, including the Banner enabled toggle.

Results

The Summary text appears on the Welcome page of every tenant for every affected user. Clicking the notification icon in the header opens the full Details content, rendered as Markdown or plain text according to the selected mode.
