Installing and configuring prerequisite software
Before you install and configure HCL Discover, you must install and configure the prerequisite software.

The task flow for installing and configuring prerequisite
software is:
- Install Microsoft IIS.
The HCL Discover Portal will not work without IIS installed. It might be that you already have IIS installed and you just need to verify that it is installed.
Make sure that the Startup Type for IIS is set to Automatic.
For information about installing IIS, see the appropriate Microsoft web sites and documentation.
- Determine what version of .NET installed on your Windows Server
HCL Discover requires .NET 6.0
- If you do not have the required version of .NET installed on your Windows Server, install it
from the Microsoft Developer Network.

- For Hosting Bundle → https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-aspnetcore-6.0.36-windows-hosting-bundle-installer
- Enable the required .NET framework features for the Application Development server role.
- Register IIS.
- Install Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
To install Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL, please refer the corresponding website to download the installer and to refer their documentation.
Note: When installing HCL Discover with PostgreSQL, ensure that you have Super User (Super Admin) access to the database because the credentials are required during the installation of HCL Discover. - Configure Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL to work with HCL Discover.
