When changes to options take effect

In general, changes to options take effect immediately, regardless of how they are specified. The only exception is the HFZS subsystem, which must be stopped and restarted if changes are made to any of these options:
  • DataSets (HFZVSxxx(...),HFZEXEC(...),HFZDOC(...),HFZDOxxx(...),HFZVIEWS(...))
  • DumpRegistrationExits
  • Exclude/Include
  • Language
  • Locale
  • NoDup(ImageFast(...))
  • Quiet
where xxx is the language ID of the Language option that is in effect. (HFZDOxxx does not support ENU.)

It is not necessary to stop and restart the HFZS subsystem for implementation of, or changes to, the HFZOPTLM configuration-options module, unless the CNFDSN setting is used to point to an HFZCNFxx member that changes any of the above options.
