Migrating from V1.1 to V16.1

This section provides information about changes to Z Abend Investigator V16.1 that you should be aware of if migrating from V1.1.

  • The HFZOPT1 SMP/E USERMOD (using a nonstandard LE parameter list separator character) has been deprecated. There is currently no replacement.
  • The HFZOPT2 SMP/E USERMOD (suppressing HFZXDCAP real-time analysis if prior exit RC=8) has been deprecated. The replacement is to use the HFZOPTLM configuration-options module PREVEXIT options field. For details, see Suppressing HFZXDCAP real-time analysis if prior exit RC=8 (PREVEXIT).
  • Installation of the HFZXDCAP pre-dump exit is no longer supported via the IEAVTABX CSECT exit list. The HFZXDCAP must be installed as an IEAVTABX_EXIT dynamic exit. For details, see Installing the MVS change options/suppress dump exit HFZXDCAP.
  • XDUMPs are enabled by default. For details, see Extended minidump data set (XDUMP).
  • Data set HFZ.SHFZLPA1 is no longer provided. If this data set exists from an earlier version of Z Abend Investigator, then it should be deleted, including any entry for it in the LPALSTxx parmlib member. An IPL is recommended to remove this data set from LPA. Instead, use the SETPROG command to place modules HFZDA and HFZLANGX in LPA, as described in Storage recommendations.
