About this task
You can share tool and URL shortcuts with other users. After you
add shortcuts to executable files and to URLs, save the definitions in a file. If you are the site
administrator, you can save the definitions so that users at the site can have the shortcut
definitions when HCL
VersionVault
Windows Explorer starts.
Procedure
- In the Shortcut pane, click Toolbox,
right-click, and click Export.
The
Export Tool Shortcuts window opens.
- Select the shortcuts that you want to export.
- In the text box under the list of shortcuts, enter
either name or a path for a file with a type of .xml.
-
Click OK.
Any tool and URL shortcuts and any page definitions that you created, modified in, or
deleted from the shortcut pane of the Toolbox tab in VersionVault
Windows Explorer are written to or removed from the file
specified.
-
If you are an
HCL
VersionVault administrator, do the following
steps.
-
Run siteprep.exe again from the HCL
VersionVault CD-ROM.
-
For the VersionVault
Windows Explorer Shortcuts site-specific
default, specify the location and name of the tool shortcut definitions file that you created here.
-
Notify users of the availability of the file.
These shortcuts are treated as site shortcuts for users who import them. Because you
created them, these same shortcuts are treated as user shortcuts when you run VersionVault
Windows Explorer.
Results
Users who want to use these shortcuts must import them. The location and name of
the file that you specify as the site-specific default appears as the default location when users
import shortcuts in VersionVault
Windows Explorer.
