About this task

To compare a version with its predecessor, complete one of the following procedures:

At a command prompt, enter the cleartool diff command:
```
cleartool diff -graphical -predecessor path
```
The xcompare window for the Diff Merge Tool opens.
On Windows systems only, in HCL VersionVault Windows Explorer, right-click a version and click Compare with Previous Version. The Diff Merge tool starts.
