  - Introduction
    You can use this document to set up an observability stack for HCL Unica using industry-standard tools such as OpenTelemetry Collector, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  - Prerequisites
    Before you begin, ensure that the following components are available and the access to the components are configured:
  - OpenTelemetry Setup
    The OpenTelemetry Collector receives telemetry data from Unica services (via JMX exporters or application agents) and forwards it to Prometheus, Tempo, or Loki as per the setup configured. The steps for OpenTelemetry setup are as follows:

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that the following components are available and the access to the components are configured:

A running Kubernetes cluster (on any cloud or on-prem setup)
kubectl configured to interact with the cluster
Helm installed and accessible
Access to required Helm repositories
Appropriate permissions to deploy workloads and configure namespaces

Note: All observability components must be installed and managed by the customer.

The HCL Unica team provides sample configuration files (upon request) that you can modify as per your environment setup.
