What's new in Traveler 14.0.0?

The following features are new in HCL Traveler 14.0.0.

Clear the sync anchors for a device from the Traveler home page

If enabled by the administrator, the Traveler home page provides a set of commands that the user can execute for the user or the user's devices. New to this release is the option to clear the sync anchors for a user's device(s). This is a light weight option to trigger a device to resync the data (mail, calendar, etc). For more information on the use and effect of clearing the sync anchors, see Resetting users and devices.

Traveler Enterprise Database Schema Update

HCL Traveler 14.0 does include a database schema update. If you are running with the Traveler in a single server configuration using the internal derby database or you use auto schema updates (default behavior) there is no action required. If you manage your database schema manually (this is not common) there will be action required if upgrading from an earlier release. See Schema migration requirements for more information.

Verifying the Traveler mail file replica list

Traveler maintains a list of mail file replicas in the Traveler database. This list is dynamically built from the information in the cluster directory and, in the case that the mail file algorithm requires mail files to be local (e.g. NTS_MAIL_SERVERS_ALGORITHM=LOCALONLY), mail files detected on the traveler servers. A new form of the Bind command, verifyLocalOnly has been added to verify the accuracy of the list of replicas for a user (or all users) and ensure that users are bound to a traveler server with a mail file replica. See High Availability commands for more information.

Security improvements to the Traveler home page

Inline CSS styles and JavaScript were removed from the Traveler home page to support a more secure Content-Security-Policy header. Environments with an existing Content-Security-Policy header set for the Traveler home page should remove the 'unsafe-inline' values of the style-src and script-src policy directives and set them to 'self' instead, as described in Setting security headers.

Updated APNS P12 files

Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) p12 certificates updated to expire in November 2024. These certificates replace the files shipped with 12.0.2 Fix Pack 1, which expire February 28, 2024.

Support Multiple accounts with HCL Verse for Android

HCL Verse for Android 14.0.0 introduces support for multiple Traveler accounts, see Working with Multiple Accounts. HCL Traveler 14.0 is required to support this feature. The level of HCL Domino can be any level that is currently supported by HCL Traveler 14.0.

More Traveler access of the mail files using a user session

In the beginning of Traveler, Traveler used a server session to access the data in the user's mail file. Then, Traveler changed in 9.0.1.18 to use the user session for some access but still the server access for some access. In 14.0.0.0, the remaining server access paths were replaced with user session access, so everything for the user should be using the user session now. One of the paths that is changed is related to profile documents (some of which includes policy information), so users must have the ACL “Maximum Internet name and password” set to a value of Editor or above. The ACL information article from 9.0.1.18 is still a good reference.
