What should I know about deleting and re-creating BlackBerry accounts?
There are several issues to be aware of when deleting and re-creating BlackBerry accounts.
Any time the account is deleted from a BlackBerry device, all of the user's data that was synced to the device from HCL Traveler will be deleted. When the account is re-created on the device, an initial sync will be preformed. Depending on the amount of data in the user's Notes database, this could take a significant amount of time to complete.
- The account Sync option for mail will be toggled ON by default
- Only the default folders of Inbox and Sent will sync, any custom folders previously configured to sync will not
- BES - Specific
- Default NNE settings will be restored - for example, if you have enabled Domino Encryption for all outgoing mail from the device, this will no longer function
- Calendar
- The account sync option for the calendar will be toggled to ON by default
- Customized calendar colors will be restored to default
- If you chose to hide the calendar in the calendar view, that setting will be restored to default
- If you chose a certain calendar as the target calendar for new entries, that setting will be restored to default
- Contacts
- The account sync option for your contacts will be toggled to ON by default
- If you hid account contacts in your contacts view previously, that setting will be restored to default
- Linked contacts will no longer be linked
- Any speed dial designations will no longer be associated with contacts
- To Do
- The account sync option for To Do will be toggled to ON by default
- The default Sort Order will be reset to display by Due Date
