SafeLinx Clients
SafeLinx Clients can establish virtual private network (VPN) connections with mobile access services across various wireless and wireline network. SafeLinx Clients use these optimized, secure IP tunnels to communicate with resources on the internal network.

SafeLinx Clients

Installing the SafeLinx Client

Install the SafeLinx Client on a Linux x64 64-bit system.

Before you begin

If you previously installed the SafeLinx Client, make sure that the Connections window is closed.

About this task

The installation procedure assumes that you are downloading the code from the HCL Support website at https://support.hcltechsw.com/csm

When you install components, some operating systems provide a method for you to log the installation activities and results with appropriate time stamps. As an additional parameter to the install_wc script, attach 2>&1| tee myfile.log, where myfile.log is a path and file that you choose to log the installation.

Procedure

To install the SafeLinx Client on a Linux system:

Download the SafeLinx Client for Linux from the My HCL Software® Support website. The file name is linux-client-x86_64-616.tar.gz for the 64-bit version.
Decompress the downloaded file. From a command line, enter tar -xzvf linux-client-x86_64-616.tar.gz on a 64-bit system. This command places the code and installation scripts in a directory named linux.
Make sure that you are logged in as root and change to the linux directory that was created in the previous step.
Enter ./install_wc to start the installation.
