This guide describes how to install HCL OneTest™ API. After you install the software, you can perform administration tasks such as configuration and integration of the product. This guide is intended for administrators.

HCL OneTest™ API and IBM® Engineering Test Management
When you integrate HCL OneTest™ API with Engineering Test Management, you can run HCL OneTest API tests and suites in the centralized test management environment of Engineering Test Management.

After the HCL OneTest™ API-Engineering Test Management integration is complete, you can export tests and test suites from HCL OneTest API into Engineering Test Management. Exported tests and test suites are created as test cases and test scripts in Engineering Test Management.

- Installation of HCL OneTest™ API
  You can find information about installing HCL OneTest™ API from the HCL OneTest Studio or HCL OneTest API package.

Exporting an HCL OneTest™ API test to Engineering Test Management

You can export the HCL OneTest™ API test to IBM® Engineering Test Management. After the test is exported, it displays as a test script in a test case.

About this task

To export a test, perform the following steps:

Procedure

In HCL OneTest™ API, in Test Factory, right-click a test, and then click Export. The Export Test window opens.
Select the Engineering Test Management integration and click OK. Engineering Test Management opens, and your test displays as a test script.
Configure and start an agent computer.
In Engineering Test Management, open the test in the test case and run the test case.
In the Run Test Case window, select Modify Execution Variable Value. The test displays under Test Script. Notice that the input tag information that you defined in HCL OneTest™ API is displayed.
Run the test. In the test results, notice that the output tag that you defined in HCL OneTest™ API is displayed in Execution Variables.
