License availability and usage
An entitlement must have enough licenses available for the number of logical processors on the requesting host. If there are not enough available licenses for all logical processors, the request fails and the host does not acquire any licenses.
You can use the dtxlicutil -view command to display the total number of
licenses for all features in an entitlement and the number of licenses that are available to
acquire. The command returns the following information from the license server:
- Expiration
- The date when the entitlement ends.
- Issued
- The date when the entitlement was mapped to the device on the license server. This step is part of the configuration required to download the software from license server.
- Start
- The date when the entitlement was created on the license server.

In the example output above, the entitlement includes 200 HIP Cores (runtime) features. All but
two of the HIP_Cores licenses are in use. In this case, a host computer with eight logical
processors cannot acquire a HIP_Cores license until six more licenses become available. More
licenses become available when:
- They are not in use 24 hours after the host computer obtained them, and Integration Platform returns them to the entitlement pool.
- They are explicitly released by a host computer.
You can display the host names of the computers using a feature license with the License and Delivery Portal:
- Log into the Portal and click
- Click the device for your entitlement.
- Click . The ID field displays the host names of the computers that currently have a feature license.
- Click the device host name to display the number of licenses that the host has for each feature.
