Excalibur Text Search DataBlade® Module installation
Use the Module to search your textual data in ways that are faster and more sophisticated than the keyword matching that SQL provides. Excalibur text search capabilities include phrase matching, exact and fuzzy searches, compensation for misspelling, and synonym matching.
Installing the Excalibur Text Search DataBlade® Module
To install and use the Excalibur Text Search DataBlade® Module in your database:
- Log in as the informix user (UNIX™) or as a member of the Informix-Admin group (Windows™).
- Go to the directory where the installation file is located and
run one of the following installation commands: Default console mode
- Windows™
etx.1.31.xCn.WIN.exe
- UNIX™ or Linux™
etx.1.31.xCn.platform.bin
GUI mode- Windows™
etx.1.31.xCn.WIN.exe -i gui
- UNIX™ or Linux™
etx.1.31.xCn.platform.bin -i gui
Silent mode- Windows™
etx.1.31.xCn.WIN.exe -i silent -DLICENSE_ACCEPTED=true
- UNIX™ or Linux™
etx.1.31.xCn.platform.bin -i silent -DLICENSE_ACCEPTED=true
The x indicates the platform bit size (U is 32-bit UNIX™ or Linux™, T is 32-bit Windows™, and F is 64-bit), the n indicates the fix pack level, and platform is the UNIX™ or Linux™ platform, for example AIX®.
- Confirm the location of the installation when prompted; the default location is the directory that is specified by the INFORMIXDIR environment variable. To install in another Informix® instance, specify the top-level directory of that installation.
- Complete the installation process.
- After installation, read important online notes and product documentation, which are in the $INFORMIXDIR/extend/ETX.1.31.xCn/doc directory.
- Make the Excalibur Text Search DataBlade® module available to a database by registering it in that database with BladeManager. Accept the prompts to register the HCL Informix® Large Object Locator DataBlade® Module and the HCL Informix® Text Descriptor DataBlade® Module. Uninstalling the
To uninstall the :
- Windows™
- From the Control Panel, click Add or Remove Programs.
- From the product list, select Module and click Remove.
- UNIX™ or Linux™
- Log in as the informix user.
- Go to the following directory:
$INFORMIXDIR/Uninstall_ETX.1.31.xCn
The x indicates the bit size and the n indicates the fix pack level.
- Run the following command:
Uninstall_ETX.1.31.xCn
