Integrating HCL Discover with HCL CDP

This topic provides an overview of integrating HCL Discover with HCL CDP to capture and route event data for real-time insights, unified customer profiles, and advanced segmentation in Journey. It describes supported integration architectures, key data flows, and outlines the prerequisites and credentials required for successful configuration. The integration enables both live and historical event processing to enhance customer behavior analysis and journey personalization. Use this flow for real-time tracking of known live user events on configured sites.

The integration between HCL CDP and HCL Discover enables you to capture event data from Discover and route it through CDP to Journey. This integration allows you to:

  • Real-time Insights: Enables the capture of live, transactional, and behavioral events (like sign-in, product selection) for immediate action and personalization in Journey.
  • Unified Profile: Populates the Customer One View (COV) with up-to-the-minute activity data, creating a holistic profile for segmentation and analysis.
  • Advanced Segmentation: Allows for the creation of Real-Time Segments (RTS) and batch segments based on user interactions captured by Discover, feeding directly into personalized journeys.

HCL Discover uses the DIAPI to transmit events to HCL CDP, where they are processed and stored for customer behavior analysis.

Integration architectures

The integration supports two primary data flows, each designed for specific use cases:

SST flow

Data path: Discover → CDP → Journey

Supported features:

  • Customer One View (COV)
  • COV Activity
  • Live Events
Non-SST flow
Use this flow for processing events from existing users and historical analysis.
Data path: Discover → CDP → Kafka → Journey

Supported features:

  • Batch processing
  • RTS
  • Path/Funnel (with T+1 delay)
